WAITING FOR GODOT ANNOUNCEMENT

I am extremely happy to share with you some casting updates for this season.

Joining Nathan Lane and Bill Irwin in our upcoming production of Waiting for Godot are John Goodman as Pozzo and David Strathairn as Lucky. The cast will also include Matthew Schechter as Boy.

John Goodman is well-known for his work on the long-running television series “Roseanne,” for which he earned a Golden Globe and seven Emmy nominations. John will be returning to the Broadway stage for the first time in over twenty years, having starred in Loose Ends in 1979 and Big River in 1985. He has also appeared in countless off-Broadway and regional productions, as well as an endless list of films, including The Big Lebowski, O Brother, Where Art Thou and Monsters, Inc.

David Strathairn won the Volpi Cup at the Venice Film Festival and earned five additional award nominations for his portrait of legendary CBS news broadcaster Edward R. Murrow in George Clooney’s Oscar-nominated film Good Night, and Good Luck. His illustrious film career spans over two decades, and includes the upcoming film version of The Tempest, directed by Julie Taymor.

It is truly an honor to welcome this acclaimed cast to the Roundabout stage.

As you already know, Waiting for Godot will be directed by Anthony Page. The design team also includes Santo Loquasto (Sets), Jane Greenwood (Costumes) and Peter Kaczorowski (Lights).
